APDC

APDC was founded on 13 November 1984 by Gonçalo Sequeira Braga as a nonprofit public-interest association. It serves as a national platform for debate, knowledge exchange, and strategic foresight in the fields of communications, information and communication technologies (ICT), and media. 

APDC’s mission is to:

  • Lead public policy discussions and contribute to the digitalization of the Portuguese economy.

  • Innovate by supporting technological advancements and digital transformation across sectors.

  • Connect stakeholders through events, working groups, and networking opportunities.

  • Educate by promoting digital skills and literacy through training programs and publications.

  • Impact society positively by encouraging responsible and sustainable digital practices. 

Key initiatives include:

  • Digital Business Congress: An annual event that gathers industry leaders to discuss trends and challenges in the digital landscape.

  • EVOLVE Summit: Focused on digital transformation and innovation strategies for businesses.

  • Digital Union: A series of discussions on regulatory and strategic issues affecting the digital sector.

  • Publications: Including the quarterly “Comunicações” magazine, which covers developments in ICT and media. 

With over 120 institutional members and 600 individual members, APDC plays a pivotal role in shaping Portugal’s digital future.
