HLRS, Universität Stuttgart
The High Performance Computing Centre (HLRS) is a research and service institution affiliated to the University of Stuttgart. It is one of the three national supercomputing centres in Germany and one of the three members of the GAUSS Centre for Supercomputing, offering services to users from academia and industry. The world leading experience of HLRS lies in supporting users from the engineering domain at large in parallel programming, in the development of productivity tools for parallel programming including integrated development environments, in the expertise in applying software engineering methods to the HPC domain, in cloud computing projects and AI.
HLRS research and operation focus is oriented towards:
• The operation of supercomputers owned by hww GmbH, a public-private partnership consortium comprising among others the German Telecom and Porsche AG.
• Teaching and training in distributed systems, software engineering and programming models.
• Cooperation with international partners from industry and research on existing and new technologies, such as AI, cloud Computing and data analytics.
• Scientific visualization in Virtual- and Augmented-Reality.
