EuroXR - European Association for Extended Reality
EuroXR – European Association for eXtended Reality is an international non-profit association (AISBL) based in Brussels, Belgium. Founded in 2010 as a continuation of the FP6 Network of Excellence INTUITION, it has grown into a European network of universities, research organizations, XR laboratories, SMEs, technology providers, industrial organizations and end-users working with immersive technologies.
Its scope covers the full XR spectrum: Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, digital twins, simulation, haptics and multimodal interaction, human–computer interaction, spatial computing and AI-enabled XR. Its application areas include Industry 5.0, robotics and human–robot collaboration, healthcare, education and vocational training, and cultural heritage.
EuroXR acts as a bridge between research, industry, education and European initiatives. It runs the annual EuroXR International Conference, the EuroXR Open Forum, Summer Schools, workshops and webinars, giving researchers and companies a shared platform to present results, demonstrators and applications to the European XR community.
In Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ projects, EuroXR contributes as an XR ecosystem partner and can lead work packages on communication and dissemination, stakeholder engagement, training and capacity building, validation and piloting, and exploitation and sustainability. It also supports XR standardization, interoperability, accessibility and trustworthy immersive technologies.
Its core added value lies in connecting project results with the wider European XR ecosystem, helping turn research into validated, visible and widely adopted solutions with long-term impact.
