Description

INTELLIMECH aims to fill the gap between research and industries, promoting collaboration among companies of different sizes and from a variety of fields spread over the whole country. Founded in Bergamo in 2007, it currently involves 82 high-tech enterprises, making it one of the most important Italian private initiatives in this field. Its research is mainly focused on Smart Factories, including advanced electronics, Data Analytics, AI, ICT, XR, and robotics for several industrial sectors. INTELLIMECH manages applied R&D and interdisciplinary experimental activities into pre-competitive technological platforms and prototypes production for innovative infra-sectorial applications to serve the partners. Moreover, it implements products and services based on the results of shared research activities through projects tailored for specific partners. Furthermore, INTELLIMECH relies on two laboratories:

JOiiNT LAB, established in 2020 in partnership with Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), is focused on advanced robotics technologies and aims at strengthening the technology transfer mission, bridging research activities and industrial needs, training high-level professional figures with advanced technical-scientific skills and enhancing the technological excellence of the area. JOiiNT LAB is unique in terms of size and strategic importance, making it the ideal base for IIT's projection towards supporting the Lombard and national industry.

SmartLab, located at the POINT, the Technology Center of Bergamo, is a demonstrative laboratory where different machines from IMECH associated companies are interconnected following the Industry 4.0 paradigm. SmartLab is divided into two main areas: a software room, where researchers can develop software or use it for simulation and testing; a showroom, where some of the demonstrators developed in the last years are available, including diagnostic, monitoring and predictive systems, smart applications and communication systems.
