XR HUB Bavaria

XR HUB Bavaria is a state-funded initiative aimed at strengthening Bavaria’s position as a leading hub for Extended Reality (XR) technologies, encompassing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). With three dedicated hubs in Munich, Nuremberg, and Würzburg, the initiative serves as a central platform for networking, education, and innovation in the XR ecosystem.()

The Munich hub, located at the Deutsches Museum’s Forum der Zukunft, acts as the central coordination point, offering XR experiences, workshops, and events to engage the public and professionals alike. The Nuremberg hub focuses on facilitating market access for XR companies, promoting regional visibility, and supporting sectors such as industry, healthcare, tourism, and retail. Meanwhile, the Würzburg hub, based at the University of Würzburg’s Chair of Human-Computer Interaction, emphasizes research and the transfer of scientific knowledge to practical applications.

XR HUB Bavaria also spearheads initiatives like the XRXplorer School, which integrates XR technologies into educational settings, and XRSpaces, a virtual platform for collaboration and community building. Through events, workshops, and partnerships, XR HUB Bavaria connects stakeholders across various sectors, fostering a vibrant and innovative XR community in Bavaria.
