Technology Ireland

Technology Ireland is the principal trade association representing Ireland’s technology sector. As a part of Ibec, Ireland’s largest business advocacy organization, it encompasses over 270 member companies, including both indigenous firms and multinational corporations. Technology Ireland serves as a central platform for policy advocacy, industry collaboration, and promoting digital transformation in Ireland.

Technology Ireland operates through a network of working groups, member forums, and networking events, enabling collaboration and strategic planning among its members. It actively engages with government departments, state agencies, and EU institutions to influence policy and create a favorable environment for the tech industry.

The association’s strategic pillars include:

  • Regulatory Stability and Coherence: Advocating for a National Digital Strategy Action Plan and the appointment of a Minister of State for Digital Delivery.

  • Strategic Growth and Business Development: Addressing infrastructural capacity constraints and promoting cost competitiveness.

  • Global Leadership through Robust Digital Policy and Open Digital Trade: Leveraging EU and international trade partnerships to enhance Ireland’s global influence.

  • Digital Entrepreneurship, Development, Creation, and Management: Supporting founders to scale, promoting long-term investment in entrepreneurship, and enhancing the R&D tax credit.

  • New, Emerging, and Transformative Technologies: Promoting and protecting the transformative role of AI and large language models, and committing to ambitions to double the semiconductor sector.

  • Future-Proofing the Sector: Prioritizing and funding digital literacy and skills, and implementing robust ESG strategies.

Technology Ireland also hosts the annual Technology Ireland Industry Awards, celebrating innovation and excellence within the sector.
