Technology Industries of Finland

Technology Industries of Finland (TIF) is the principal trade association representing Finland’s technology sector. Established in 1903, TIF encompasses over 1,800 member companies across five key sectors: electronics and electrotechnical industry, mechanical engineering, metals industry, information technology, and consulting engineering. Collectively, these industries account for approximately 50% of Finland’s exports, 30% of its GDP value added, and 65% of all business-sector R&D investments.

TIF plays a pivotal role in shaping Finland’s industrial landscape through various initiatives:()

  • Policy Advocacy: Engaging with national and EU policymakers to influence legislation and create a favorable regulatory environment for the technology sector. ()

  • Strategic Initiatives: Developing comprehensive action plans and participating in consultations on key issues such as sustainability reporting and the green transition.

  • Public Engagement: Organizing events, workshops, and seminars to foster dialogue among stakeholders and promote innovation.

TIF is also a member of international organizations like DIGITALEUROPE, Ceemet, and Orgalim, representing Finland’s technology interests at the European level.
