The National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries of Lithuania (NKIKIA), also known as KIK Lietuva, is a non-governmental umbrella organization established in 2008. It unites over 60 members, including sectoral associations, creative incubators, cultural institutions, creative enterprises, higher education institutions, and individual creators.
Mission & Vision
NKIKIA aims to cultivate a favorable and sustainable political, creative, legal, and economic environment for the growth of Lithuania’s creative and cultural industries (CCI). It serves as a facilitator for the CCI community, promoting high added value in society.
Key Activities
Advocacy: Actively participates in shaping cultural and higher education policies, offering recommendations on government and EU investment programs, and emphasizing the CCI sector’s contribution to the economy and public welfare.
Knowledge & Competence: Collects and disseminates information on CCIs, shares policy updates, fosters collaboration between science and entrepreneurship, stimulates innovation, and conducts research and training.
Networking: Promotes CCI networking by participating in international networks, contributing to regional initiatives in the Baltic Sea region, and supporting sectoral clustering.
Projects & Initiatives
NKIKIA organizes the annual National Culture Forum, a significant event influencing Lithuanian cultural policy by enhancing dialogue between policymakers and CCI experts.
It also implemented the project “Cultural Impact and Communication Opportunities”, aiming to increase awareness of culture’s importance in Lithuanian society.
