IT Association of Slovakia (ITAS) is the largest professional association representing Slovakia’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector. Established in 1999, ITAS unites over 100 domestic and international ICT companies, collectively employing nearly 30,000 professionals. The association serves as a collaborative platform for industry leaders, aiming to foster an innovative digital environment and advance Slovakia’s digital economy.
ITAS plays a pivotal role in shaping Slovakia’s digital landscape through various initiatives:
Policy Advocacy: ITAS actively engages with national and European policymakers to influence legislation affecting the ICT sector. It represents Slovakia in DIGITALEUROPE and collaborates with organizations like BusinessEurope and the OECD.
Public Sector Digitization: The association contributes to the development of eGovernment strategies and monitors public IT projects, ensuring transparency and efficiency in public procurement processes.
Education and Workforce Development: ITAS addresses the digital skills gap by partnering with educational institutions, developing IT curricula, and promoting initiatives like the IT Fitness Test to assess and enhance digital competencies among students and professionals.
Research and Innovation: The association supports research and development activities, including the establishment of the Slovak Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AISlovakIA) and the promotion of Industry 4.0 concepts.
International Collaboration: ITAS strengthens international cooperation by facilitating connections between Slovak ICT companies and global partners, participating in international research consortia, and promoting Slovakia as a hub for digital innovation.
