Flandersmake

Flanders Make is the strategic research center for the manufacturing industry in Flanders, Belgium, established in 2014 through the merger of Flanders’ Drive and the Flanders Mechatronics Technology Centre (FMTC). It aims to strengthen the international competitiveness of the Flemish manufacturing sector by supporting both SMEs and large companies with industry-driven, pre-competitive research in two main domains: product development (vehicles and machines) and production processes (assembly).

Flanders Make operates from multiple sites across Flanders, including Lommel and Leuven, and collaborates structurally with research departments of the five Flemish universities. The organization focuses on key technological areas such as mechatronics, product development methods, and production technologies.

Its mission encompasses:

  • Research: Conducting high-quality, industry-driven research projects.

  • Customized Innovation: Assisting companies in developing technological solutions and optimizing existing products and production processes.

  • Testing & Validation: Providing extensive infrastructure for testing and validating products or production systems.

Flanders Make also places significant emphasis on international cooperation, participating in various European research projects to foster innovation and technological advancement.
